EL SALVADOR

This country has recently generated initiatives driven to the development of digital repositories, constituting a breakthrough the creation of the Consortium of University Libraries of El Salvador (CBUES), which brings together the libraries of nine Salvadoran universities and the National Library in order to stimulate the Open Access theme collectively.

Legislation and policies

The publication of the scientific and academic production of El Salvador in journals of international impact is almost nil; In addition, national journals are almost always published with delays due to lack of financial resources for their printing, which affects the dissemination and production of new knowledge. In order to solve the above, changes must be made in the processes of production and dissemination of scientific and academic information in El Salvador.
