Bianca Amaro, from Ibict, received award for her contribution to Open Access in the world

Also the Institute launched the "Manifesto of Open Access to the Brazilian Research Data for Citizen Science"
The coordinator of the Program of Open Access to Scientific Information of the Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology (Ibict), Bianca Amaro, received on Wednesday, September 28, the Electronic Publishing Trust for Development Award, for individuals who have made a significant contribution to the progress of Open Access in the developing world.
The award ceremony took place at the event that commemorated the International Day of Universal Access to Information, at the “Museum of Tomorrow”, in Rio de Janeiro. The meeting was sponsored by UNESCO and Ibict.
On the occasion, Ibict launched its "Manifesto of Open Access to the Brazilian Research Data for Citizen Science”. The document aims to "demonstrate its strategic and informational value and to encourage and support movements and initiatives of Open Science in Brazil, by a broad and unrestricted access to primary research sources used by researchers and other social segments, enabling its sharing, reproducibility, verification, evaluation, reuse and redistribution in new contexts and in collaborative and interdisciplinary research."
In the event the Executive Secretary of LA Referencia, Alberto Cabezas, presented the challenges of the regional network and praised the work done by Bianca Amaro and the Ibict.
