Description
Summary:For the academic year 2014-15, we developed a research activity within the frame of our master degree: Master Francés Lengua Aplicada at Complutense/Paris-Sorbonne Universities. We proposed a very concrete case-study: Madame de Staël in the 19th Century Spanish Press. Our starting point was the Hemeroteca Virtual and the Biblioteca Virtual de la Prensa Hispánica. Together with my students, we were able to harvest more than 22,000 words between 1800 and 1870: this allowed for a deep analysis as to how Mme de Staël was presented by the Spanish press, before the advent of a certain modernity around 1868. We also use VoyeurTools and Arcgis to analyse and visualize data.
